Passport to Adventure
We are so excited to present our second activity book, this time celebrating Cañon City's 150th Anniversary! Engage with history as you complete over 20 different activities in the Cañon City area. With short hikes and excursions that are appropriate for young and old(er), this activity book will keep you busy for a week or all summer long. Complete 8 activities and get a keychain, complete 20 and get a keychain and a commemorative reusable water bottle! Date: January 1-December 1, 2022 Cost: FREE Where: Grab your passport to adventure at the Royal Gorge Regional Museum and History Center, located at 612 Royal Gorge Blvd. They're open Wednesday-Saturday, 10:00-4:00 pm. |
The third annual 'Stars' gala is back for another year of glitz, glamour, and fun. Join us as we celebrate not only Cañon City's 150th anniversary, but also its unique and storied history with Hollywood film-making. From Buckskin Joe to Grape Creek and Main Street, the Royal Gorge Region played host to dozens of films and movies during the early part of the century. We'll bring history and the present together in a spotlight on our area's iconic, cinematic beauty. Dress in your glamorous Hollywood best (black tie) and join us at the historic Theater at the Royal Gorge Bridge - the only building saved from the 2013 Royal Gorge Fire.
Live music. Stargazing (perhaps the glamorous kind as well as the celestial). Delicious food. Late-night dancing. We'll have it all...and we hope you'll be there. Tickets on sale soon! Head out on the Royal Gorge Trails Fremont Adventure Recreation for the most incredible mountain bike course in southern Colorado! The jewel of the Royal Gorge Region’s trail system – the Royal Gorge Trails – is a stunning system of singletrack trail. Trails range from green to black and flowy to technical. With a significant amount of elevation gain, you’ll have the opportunity to climb through the hills surrounding the north rim of the famed Royal Gorge over the Arkansas River. Catch views (and your breath) along 20 available miles of unique singletrack.

If you're looking for Canon City trail reports or Canon City trail conditions, please see our Trails page. We do our best to update these reports as often as possible (especially before the weekend). Please don't ride muddy trails. We are a small community with limited resources and volunteer capabilities. Thank you for being kind to trails!
