Upcoming Events
It's a race JUST for kids! If you have a little runner (ages 3-12) who like getting outside, dinosaurs, friends, and fun, join us for the 2nd annual Dino-Rific Kids Fun Run! This event is held at the Dino Walk at the Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience. Kids will run past animatronic dinos while doing a 1K fun run. There are two start times to accommodate naps and schedules, so sign up for the one that works for you!

It's National Kids to Parks Day! We're excited to host our first-ever family / group hike to Point Alta Vista. Love hiking with kids but don't know how to get them out the door? Need some help navigating the trailhead and trail to one of Cañon City's most iconic spots? We'd love you to join us! Meet at the trailhead off of CR3A at 9:30 and we'll lead the way. Bring: sturdy shoes, water, and a snack. We'll provide stickers, some prizes, and the opportunity to hike with lots of other kids.
Date: Saturday, May 21, 2022 Time: 9:30 am - 11:30 am Location: Point Alta Vista Trailhead Cost: FREE Distance: About 2.5 miles round-trip (total). The path is wide and relatively easy. There is some incline. If you need special accommodations for wheelchairs, please contact us! No need to sign up, but all participants will be required to sign a waiver. We recommend that children ages 4 and up attend this hike. (Other kids might just need to be carried!) |
We're back for our fifth year of fun! Join our group leaders in riding some of the area's best trails while learning from peers and experienced mountain bikers.
We'll split into groups so you can be sure to ride with other women who are at the same experience level. From there, we'll ride sections of the Royal Gorge Park Trails that are appropriate to specific skill development: body posture, balance, shifting, etc. Date: Sunday, May 22, 2022 Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Location: Royal Gorge Park, East Ridge Campground Cost: $10 Instructors are PMBIA or IMBA certified, level 1 and above. Our public lands need our help! Please help us clean some unsightly graffiti in a local park / trail. Hike about .6 miles with us as we bring water and cleaning materials to the site, then scrub away some spray paint. No experience necessary. Suitable for ages 10+. Please sign up below so that we can be sure to have enough materials for all! We'll need graffiti scrubbers and water carriers. See signup for more information.

If you're looking for Canon City trail reports or Canon City trail conditions, please see our Trails page. We do our best to update these reports as often as possible (especially before the weekend). Please don't ride muddy trails. We are a small community with limited resources and volunteer capabilities. Thank you for being kind to trails!
