Tunnel Vision is the only event of its kind in the Royal Gorge Region - a duathlon that pairs mountain biking with hiking/trail running. This event will feature a neutral start by bike, followed by a hike / trail run up one of the community’s newest trails, and a bike ride back to the finish line. This event is designed to be fun and challenging for a WIDE variety of ages and experience levels. Choose your distance and enjoy a mild bike ride (with one hill), plus a short, medium, or long run / hike up one of Cañon City's most exciting trails - Royal Cascade. CANCELLED DUE TO LOW PARTICIPATION |
Thank you for joining us! A record 840 people signed up to run with us, and we are so grateful for your support and participation. Results are up, and photos / videos will be posted in a few days.
Thank you for joining us for our 20th annual event...and for bearing with us through a few technology hiccups. YETI or Walk/Jog Awards will be distributed to schools or mailed to recipients. We apologize for the inconvenience. We use "Chip Time" to calculate awards. (This is the more accurate time as it detects when you crossed the finish line to start and when you crossed to end, not when the "gun" went off.) If you have any issues or discrepancies, we will do our very best to remedy them. Please contact [email protected]. |
Looking for a non-competitive running group? Join FAR for a weekly run along the Riverwalk. We'll meet at Cañon City MUGS (1520 Royal Gorge Blvd.), head toward the Riverwalk, and enjoy a 3-mile jog. Back at MUGS, enjoy beer and food specials.
Date: Every Wednesday, starting May 15th Time: 5:30 pm Location: Meet at Cañon City MUGS (1520 Royal Gorge Blvd.) Cost: FREE Details: All participants MUST sign a waiver to participate. |

Year-End report and sponsor packet
We are excited and proud to present our 2023 Year-End Report. This year has seen some great trail openings, new virtual events, and momentous developments. Our recreation opportunities are growing in leaps and bounds, and it's only through your support that it's happened! We can't wait to see what can be accomplished in 2024.
Please also peruse our sponsor packet for 2023. If you feel that you or your business would like to contribute to recreation opportunities in our region, please let us know. We'd love to have you as a FAR contributor or donor! |
SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC IMPACT REPORT OF TRAILS
We are proud to have worked with the City of Cañon City and CU's Masters of the Environment (MENV) Program to create the region's first-ever economic impact report aligned with outdoor recreation amenities.
You can download the report here and read more about the positive impacts of trial systems on the local economy. We are excited to share this information with our community as we look to the future. Decisions to fund trails, create infrastructure, continue planning, and sustain development should be made with good data, and we are grateful to the CU students who have provided us with this! |
Trail Conditions
If you're looking for Canon City trail reports or Canon City trail conditions, please see our Trails page. We do our best to update these reports as often as possible (especially before the weekend). Please don't ride muddy trails. We are a small community with limited resources and volunteer capabilities. Thank you for being kind to trails!
